Udenna Group COVID-19 Response

In response to the government’s call for businesses to support its workforce during the COVID-19 containment period, the UDENNA Group as a whole has decided to maintain the salaries and benefits of all its employees for the
duration of the quarantine period. To further help the affected employees, UDENNA also released half of the 13th month pay and a portion of the year end bonus in advance.

UCARE or CommUnity Care is a program of Udenna Foundation that aims to find synergies across the different companies under Udenna to feed, protect, and transport the community in the time of COVID.

This call to action is hinged on Udenna Corporation Chairman Dennis Uy’s belief that all efforts, no matter how small, done together can lead to better lives for the Filipino.

Some 1,000 COVID-19 diagnostic kits from South Korea donated to DOH

On March 13, 2020, Udenna Foundation in cooperation with Myongji Hospital delivered some 1,000 test kits to the Department of Health. The test kits can push up the accuracy of the diagnosis results to 99.9%, while decreasing the time required to less than two hours.

About 500,000 medical masks donated to the Department of Health

DITO Telecommunity and China National Pharmaceutical Foreign Trade Corporation donated about 500,000 pieces of medical masks to the Department of Health.

Around 375,000 kilos of rice donated as food aid for Metro Manila

DITO Telecommunity donated around 375,000 kilos of rice directly to Taguig City, Quezon City, and other Metro Manila LGUs to aid marginalized citizens amid the COVID19 pandemic.

Over 153,000 liters of Phoenix fuels help transport our frontlines and deliver essential goods

Phoenix Petroleum donated an estimated over 153,000 liters of Phoenix PULSE Technology fuels to private and public partners to help in the transportation of frontliners, healthcare workers, medical supplies, and essential goods:
● 45,000 liters to “Libreng Sakay” buses in coordination with Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) and the military.
● About 17,350 liters donated to Grab Transport
● 90,000 liters are allocated to Department of Transportation chartered buses
● Other donation recipients includes Makati LGU, Iloilo LGU and Western Visayas Hospital in Visayas, and Vallacar Libreng Sakay in Mindanao.

About 109 units of Super LPG powers various community kitchens nationwide, providing food to frontliners and marginalized communities

Phoenix Super LPG has currently donated about 80 units of 50 Kg. and about 29 units of 11 Kg. Super LPG tanks to various private and public partners in key areas nationwide:

Around 500 personal hygiene donated to people in quarantine facilities

Through FamilyMart, Udenna Foundation donated around 500 pieces of personal hygiene kits containing a toothbrush, toothpaste, bath soap, shampoo, tissue roll, wet tissue wipes, and powder. The packs donated to the Department of Health are intended for people under investigation and monitoring (PUI/PUM) in COVID-19 quarantine facilities.

Some 1,500 ready to eat meals helped feed uniformed frontliners and checkpoint personnel in Metro Manila

Assorted meals were donated to aome 1,500 frontlines in partnership with Pasig City, Makati City, and Taguig City LGUs, as well as with the Philippine National Police and Camp Crame.

Various grocery items were donated to St. Luke’s Care Store which provides free goods to frontliners

Various food items were donated to St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) Care Store. A project of SLMC executives, the Care Store will provide the hospital’s frontliners and their families, free grocery items.

Around 1,700 families in Metro Manila were given ‘labor of love’ bread loaves

Conti’s in partnership with Liberty Flour Mills donated around 1,700 loaves of bread to ABS-CBN COVID-19 relief efforts and to The City Government of Manila to feed the less fortunate communities. The bakers made the
bread without any labor cost.

Some 120 packed meals were donated to RITM frontliners in coordination with Virlanie Foundation

As the chosen beneficiary of Virlanie Foundation, Conti’s donated about 120 packed meals to the Research Institute of Tropical Medicine frontliners.

Supported Ben&Ben’s online fundraising event for COVID-19 efforts

Wendy’s supported Ben&Ben’s online Facebook concert, ‘Puhon’ which went live last March 27, 2020 to raise funds for COVID-19 efforts. Wendy’s will provide free meals to selected beneficiaries.

Over 130 packed meals and various food items donated to healthcare frontliners

Wendy’s donated meals for over 130 frontliners of the Philippine General Hospital, Pasig Doctors Medical Center, and The Philippine Red Cross.

Donated around 1,000 pairs of latex-free medical gloves to Philippine Army Reservist

Enderun Food and Wine Society (EFWS), a Student Organization donated about 1,000 pairs latex-free medical gloves to Philippine Army Reservists led by Capt. Sharon Reyes on March 17, 2020.

Supported Enderun alumni, faculty, and student’s Covid19 Food Drive PH: adopt-a-barangay program serving over 91,000 meals to date for 12 barangays

A group of Enderun’s alumni and faculty to bring food packed by restaurants to depressed communities in need — those who live hand-to-mouth or ‘isang kahig, isang tuka’.

Udenna companies pitched in their respective help in this cause. Chelsea Group’s Worklink, helped in the logistics of food items while Conti’s Bakeshop and Restaurant lent the team 40 food crates to help the operations

To date, the the Covid19 Food Drive PH has surpassed its original goal of 72,000 meals, with a total of 91, 275 meals served in 30 days. The team was able to serve about 12 barangays in 7 cities.

2 passengers ships as quarantine facility adding over 1,500 beds as
isolation facilities

In cooperation with the Department of Transportation, two (2) 2GO ships, M/V St. Anthony de Padua and M/V St. Pope John Paul II have been converted as quarantine facilities for repatriated Filipino seafarers and workers. Approximately 1,500 Person Under Investigation (PUI) and Person Under Monitoring will use the ships. The Bureau of Quarantine and the Philippine Coast Guard will examine the returning Filipinos while 2GO’s
housekeeping team will also provide assistance.

Amidst the scaled down operations of logistics companies due to COVID-19, the joint efforts of the Chelsea Group’s Worklink, Phoenix Petroleum, and Udenna Foundation’s CommUnity Care program launched its Sagip Saka Project helping around 2,000 farmers

RUN 1: Batangas to Malabon
On March 30, 2020, championed by AGREA and the City of Malabon, the first run provided free services to pick up and deliver 6,000 Kg. of food packs from farmers in Batangas to the Malabon LGU as relief goods for its residents. The food packs are composed of rice and assorted upland vegetables, prepared by 1,500 farmers from five farming cooperatives in
San Jose, Batangas. 2 Worklink trucks were used while Phoenix Petroleum supplied the fuel.

RUN 2: Benguet to Pandacan
In coordination with Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), Global Seed Savers – Philippines, and CARE (Cooperative Assistance and Relief Everywhere) in partnership the Department of Agriculture – Cordillera Administrative Region, Sagip Saka Project transported 25 tons of assorted
vegetables
 from Tublay, Benguet to Pandacan, Manila for Caritas Manila’s CONTRA COVID-19 efforts. On April 8, 2020, two chartered trucks fueled by Phoenix Petroleum were used for this 228 km stretch of aid, helping about 190 farmers.

RUN 3: Tanay to Quezon City
In coordination with AGREA, Sagip Saka on April 22, 2020, transported 1 ton of Buko, 20 Kls. Banana leaves, 21 Kgs. Banana blossom, 11 Kgs. Saba banana, and 5 sacks of soil from Tanay to Quezon City through Worklink truck fueled by Phoenix Petroleum. This is to aid around 10 Buko and Banana farmers from Sampaloc, Tanay, Rizal.

RUN 4:Calamba, Laguna to Makati City
On May 2, 2020, Sagip Saka helped around 100 ube and coffee farmers from Calamba, Laguna to transport and deliver their produce AGREA Move Food Initiative in Makati City. This approximately 54 Km. logistics aid helped around 100 farmers and their families in the midst of the extended Enhanced Community Quarantine in Metro Manila and CALABARZON
region.

We are united in serving the Filipinos in these trying times.
